Dr. Thomas completed his medical training at Emory University here in Atlanta and attended his postgraduate psychiatric residency training at UNC School of Medicine at Chapel Hill, N.C. He is a Diplomate with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Thomas has worked in a number of mental health settings, including acute inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinical research, community mental health clinics, the Veterans Administration Hospital, and private practice.His multitude of accomplishments ranges from publication of research findings to presenting workshops on Innovative Programs in Public Psychiatry to founding a non-profit organization to address the mental health needs of unserved minority populations. He is the 2005 recipient of the Bristol Myers Squibb Fellowship in Community Psychiatry awarded by the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Thomas also spent a year in New Zealand serving primarily disadvantaged populations.
Dr. Thomas joined Azure for Health and Human Services, LLC in 2015. He treats a broad spectrum of mental health issues and has taken a specialist interest in treating adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and recommending technologies that may help complement more traditional mental health treatments. He treats primarily adults, but may be able to treat older adolescents under certain circumstances. He looks forward to providing you with excellence in care.
